Everyone his own prophet

Gerald Augustinus analysiert jüngste Umfragen zum Zustand des jugendlichen Glaubens in Deutschland:

"It makes perfect sense that Catholic countries remain more religious - Luther started the disintegration of organized religion by making everyone his own prophet. The focus on Church community and attendance is far more developed in Catholicism. Also, one of the reasons for Protestantism's early succes is also the reason for its European demise - they all became national churches, run by the state. Eventually the bureaucrats took over and today it's not rare at all to have atheist ministers in, say, Scandinavian state churches."
